My New Passport Is In Process!

March 28, 2014 by Alan Underkofler

Passport PhotoIn about one hour I had the forms filled out, new pictures done, everything signed, and $152.25 paid for my new passport.  I was told it is their “busy season” and should not expect it for at least six weeks.  I have arranged for someone to check my mail every few weeks and let me know when it arrives.  I will then have the passport added to one of my resupply boxes… No worries!

On a positive note I feel the passport picture is a bit more authentic for this thru-hiker as it has been a few days since I have shaved.  Just another benefit from the friendly thieves!

20 days until I start!  Anything else you want to throw at me world?  Bring it on!  🙂

    Dear Alan,
I find it fascinating and symbolic that your “identity” documents were stolen before a journey that is one of self-discovery. One that requires no papers to legitimize you. You’ve started the process of surrender — letting go of your social identity, your family identity and seeing who you truly are. So beautiful!
    Journey OM. Peace All Ways,
    Shima
