Day 1 – 20 miles
I still feel like it’s a bit surreal.. Im on the PCT! And not for the weekend or the week… I am heading to Canada!
I spent 12 hours on the trail today! Most of which was pure bliss and sadly last 5 miles were awful for my hiking partner Nicole aka butterfly. Something did not agree with her and she ended up getting sick at least 10 times for the last 5 miles. I felt awful for her but hopefully she feels great for the rest of the journey.
My challenges are with the pack I switched to at the last minute. I’m not sure if it’s my body, the pack design, or just bad luck but it’s not been the love affair I was hoping for. I am hoping to figure out our relationship issues over the next few days… Wish me luck!
I promised myself no more than 15 miles per day for the first 100 miles. Now I promise to do less tomorrow! 🙂
