Root Beer Floats On The Trail!

May 19, 2014 by Alan Underkofler

Mile 317 – 19 Pacific Crest Trail miles, .5 wandering miles20140519-184800.jpg

More meandering miles today around Silverwood Lake. Eventually we got close enough that we could not resist jumping in.

20140519-184929.jpgStopping at the picnic area we had a long lunch enjoying the shade and abundance of water.

20140519-185100.jpgNot 20 minutes after lunch we came across Coppertone. A traveling trail angel who offered us root beer floats. ROOT BEER FLOATS!!! What a great desert!

We continued on another five miles setting up our tent in a beautiful meadow for the evening surrounded by large rocks.
